Our Story

The Management and Staff at Little Wonders aim to provide high-quality early childhood care and education for young children and a supportive environment for parents and whanau. We intend to achieve this by providing superior facilities, quality educational equipment and programmes and well-qualified and caring teaching staff.

The Educators believe that children learn and develop in an early childhood environment where they are happy and secure. We believe that the quality of the physical environment is essential to the well-being of the children and staff and that coupled with a quality educational programme, the parents will be confident that the choices they have made for their child’s education and care are the right ones. We also believe that quality Early Childhood experiences promote the development of the child and will increase the opportunity for success through the child’s life.

Our centre will follow the Principles, Strands and Goals of Te Whaariki – He Whaariki Matauranga mo nga Mokopuna o Aotearoa – Early Childhood Curriculum.

  • The Early Childhood curriculum will empower the child to learn and grow.
  • The Early Childhood curriculum will reflect the holistic way children learn and grow.
  • The wider world of the family and community is an integral part of the early childhood curriculum.
  • Children will learn through responsive and reciprocal relations with people, places and things.

Vision Statement:

Evolve Little Wonders strives to be an inclusive part of the community. It aims to be a stable support, confident and passionate about sharing knowledge in a reciprocal way. Celebrating diversity, children will be encouraged to develop their sense of pride in self and identity as they discover their strengths and build on their capabilities. Inspirational environments and beautiful sustainable outdoor areas, offer resources that are open ended and heuristic in nature. Little Wonders staff work at supporting children to take responsibility for their own learning. They strive to offer environments where children learn through meaningful play and active exploration whilst wrapped in the security of trust and aroha.
