Building Skills Through Carpentry

A new carpentry table at Little Wonders Pegasus has been boosting skills and providing endless hours of fun.

As children learn to hammer, drill and screw, they increase control over their bodies, improve their hand to eye coordination, and develop manipulative skills. Not only that, but they learn to solve problems, express their creativity, and gain knowledge of themselves and the world around them.

“The children have really enjoyed this new experience. The carpentry table has been such a great success,” says centre manager Annie Percy.

Social skills have also been fostered as children have the opportunity to work alongside each other, take turns and share ideas.
